March 19 Media Speaking, National Speakers Association and Social and Community MediaMedia Speaking, National Speakers Association and Social and Community Media I was delighted to be asked by the National Speakers Association of Australia to speak about media and PR, which I carried out at their most recent event on the 15th March at Sydney's Swissotel Hotel. The National Speakers Association of Australia is recognised as Australia's leading public speaking association. Other speakers, who I later joined on the panel discussion included John Stanley (2UE announcer and programme director), Sharon Williams (Taurus Marketing) and Sue Currie (Shine Communications). Other speakers of note in the audience included Jenny Cartwright (Telesales Solutions), who is a professional sales trainer. A special thank you to Sandy Thomas, peak performance coach for the introduction to Jenny Cartwright, and James Adonis, for the approach from National Speakers Association. We were also able to spread the good news of wonderful good causes such as beyondblue, National Breast Cancer Foundation, and we also warned the audience about the dangers of the internet such as cyber stalking and cyber squatting, both of which we have experience in dealing with. Speaking of speaking, we have updated the Media Man Australia Speakers Profiles We are collaborating closely with Peter Meares and Bill Harrigan, and Mick Cutajar, world class martial artist will soon be speaking at some major Sydney based events, as part of his media campaign on his road to the Olympics. Other news Today I had the pleasure to once again watch The Bra Boys film. This is one of the most powerful, compelling and socially important films (or documentaries) I have ever seen. It's great to see many of the misconceptions of the Bra Boys cleared up. Sunny Abberton, your leadership is awesome and inspiring, and it's always a pleasure to champion the good name. The films narration from Russel Crowe was fantastic, the story line was brilliant, and the camera work by greats such as Brook Sylvester was world class. This is a modern day cult classic, that is breaking box office in the biggest way. This weekend we had the pleasure to attend Gretel Pinniger's (Madame Lash's) private party, and oh, what a party. Gret is a living legend, and congratulations are in order for her recent successful business deal with Hilton Hotel's. One can't go past the Provocateur Package.
